Orile Agege School: Hon. Johnson Reads Riot Acts to Truant Students

In order to create awareness and to create sustainable educational environment for schools around Agege, the Chairman of  the Local Council Development Area, Hon. Babatunde Sunday Johnson, goes around reading the Riot Act.

One of the schools visited on Tuesday, 30th April, was the Orile Agege Primary and Secondary, in which he was joined by Alhaja Kafilat Toyin Akanni Pedro, Vice-chairman, Orile Agege L.C.D.A; Mr. Sunday Esekomoh, VGN Agege/Orile Agege Area Commander; the Nigerian Police, Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps and Vigilante Group of Nigeria paramilitary personnel, Hon. Babatunde Johnson encouraged the children to shun all forms of Truancy.

Truancy in Lagos state primary and secondary schools became rampant that the state government in 2018 had to enact a law that made sure no student can access the schools after 9am and no parent is allowed to visit except on visiting days.

The Security Task Force team, led by Hon. Johnson, stopped at LABASCO then proceeded to Oyewole Primary and Secondary Schools at Mulero to sternly warn all the students about the Council's resolution to adopt a tough stance against all forms of undisciplined and truancy behaviors in our schools.

"Truancy, late coming, loitering, hooliganism and all sorts of outlawed behaviors shall not be allowed to thrive unchecked in our learning environment," the Chairman warned; even as he enjoined the students to be law abiding so as to become brilliant ambassadors of their schools," he said.
