Anambra: Orumba North at 27 - the call for Flashback

As Orumba North of Anambra state turns 27, history must be involved as flashback takes full control at the ceremony.


The great towns of Orumba North which came into existence by sledgehammers of  former vice president of Nigeria, Dr Alex Ekwueme, Prof. Humphery Nwosu and many other numerous prominent personalities, is 27 today and many have forgotten how it came to be.

The celebration started with opening prayer by His Royal Majesty, M.C Okechukwu, lgwe Awgbu,  followed by an opening remark from the Chairman Orumba North Local Government Area, Hon. Emeka Aforka.

There was a showcase of  history, culture, tradition and occupation.

Prof. O.S.A Obikeze  took over the stage with his script titled " ORUMBA AT 27 THE JOURNEY SO FAR".

Prof. Obikeze narrated the origin of Orumba, progress  and challenges.

Orumba North comprises sixteen (16) communities which includes Awgbu, omogho, Ndiokpaleze, Ndiokolo, Amaetiti, Okoh, Nnaka, Ndiukwuenu, Awa, Ndikelionwu, Ajalli, Ufuma, Amaokpala, Ndiowu, and Okpeze.
