Ghanaian Music Promoter, Sadick Assah, best known as Sleeky, advices Artistes in Ghana and Africa as a whole to accept all offers, as there is no pension in Music.
“@kuami Eugene, @Kidi music, @King Promise, @Kwesi Arthur, and all the rising artistes in GH, you guys should stop flexing around some offers from promoters. Rejecting 5K, 12K and 12K, advice yourselves well brothers. There is no pension pay in music. Be smart enough to collect all the money my brothers. Don’t allow brand to mislead you. Proper brand is when you don’t have the hit and still look good. Look at Nhyiraba Kojo,D Black, Reggie Rockstone and Captain Planet. I have spoken my mind. If you like take it”
He alluded that,
these new crop of musician should emulate the steps of D Black, Captain Planet,
Nhyiraba Kojo and others who take advantage of every opportunity to make the
least money. He further said that musicians need events to support their brand as well as promote
their songs.
“Because their
demand is high, they charge outrageous prices. They don’t realize that they
actually need us”, he said.
Sleeky is the CEO of Sleeky promotions, the same organization responsible for booking Patapaa and Stay J to perform at the inauguration of the Liberian president. He disclosed that since they 'made it', he has been trying to reach them to no avail.
