The Apex students governing body of Nigerian Students schooling both home and diaspora under the auspices of National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) joins the African continent in celebrating this year's Africa day, in commemoration of the establishment of the African Unity now known as African Union in 1963.
NANS as the most populated students movement in Africa is passionately appealing to African Leaders and all Africans to unite and embrace peace aimed at sustaining the labour, and positive motives of our founding fathers in there bid to fight for freedom , equity and social justice for all Africans.
NANS however frowns at the incessant killings in some African countries by insurgents and herdsmen, xenophobic attacks, slave trade, oppression and injustice among several other inimical acts going on in some African countries.
On this special day NANS tenders her heart felt condolences to the families of affected victims of insurgents, herdsmen attacks in Nigeria and other African countries, even as we extend our condolence to the govt of DR Congo and families of the demised 49 people involved in a boat mishap at the Congo Basin river.
NANS is finally calling on the African Union to to consider reviewing Education in African Countries by mandating African leaders to prioritize education which must reflect in there respective budgets, Security of African States must be considered as only a secured state can be most condusive for Business which will bring about employment and relative development, health should equally be considered as a priority in African States and be treated as such, even as we implore all Africans leaders to join hands together in the fight against corruption by exposing corrupt elements in their countries.
