Commentary: On giving of Weapons to Fulani Herdsmen by NAF.
The way we display our hatred for other ethnic nationalities and react negatively to issues of national importance from our comfort zones in the social media, without any sense of diplomacy or clarification, give credence to the popular opinion, beyond the shores of our land, that Igbos can never be entrusted with the leadership of Nigeria.
Why must we always expose our weaknesses instead of strength.
For those commenting against the clarification by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) over this hasty conclusion reached by the peddlers of the false rumour of dropping weapons for Fulani herdsmen at Akwuke forest, i have one question for them: So, do you think that if NAF wants to send weapons to Fulani herdsmen, they would carryout such sensitive security engagement in public for one to observe, record and report in the social media.
We should be more broadminded and reasonable at times.
All these abuses in the social media from our comfort zones will not solve any of our challenges. Let's us be diplomatic and think of a bigger picture tomorrow by rekindling the confidence of other Nigerians that the Igbos believe and still believe in the Nigerian project, laboured tirelessly and bequeathed to us by our founding fathers, because we cannot do it alone.
Let us stop being misled by those who does not truly believe in one Nigeria, and adopt strategic means of addressing our challenges.
The outcome of the last general election clearly placed Ndigbo where we belong in terms of our poor voting strength. Therefore, the fact that we can't achieve anything alone in this country, must continue to ring bell in the mind of every Igbo man and woman.
I strongly believe that the clarifications by NAF is genuine and should put to rest all these needless anxiety, mistrust, abuses and hate speeches.
Thank you and God bless.
