IPOB to Shut Down Briafran Territories, Police Command reacts.
This was made known in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful identified, who identified Sabon Gari Kano, Zaria, Kaduna, Abuja and Lagos as some of the cities where the sit-at -home order would be observed.
“There will be a complete lockdown of Biafraland and major cities where Biafrans have a significant population concentration like Sabon Gari in Kano, Lagos, Kaduna, Zaria and Abuja”, he said.
Mr Powerful also stated that the movement will be non-violent as it will be in honour to all those who have died in the struggle for Biafra independence since it was first declared in 1967.
Meanwhile, the Anambra Police command have asked her people to disregard the peaceful statement by IPOB saying they should be ignored.
According to PPRO, SP Haruna Mohammed, the IPOB remains a proscribed organization, therefore all activities by them remains illegal.
He further stated thet the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command CP Mustapha Dandaura "enjoins “Ndi Anambra" to disregard alleged calls by any group urging them to sit at home on the 30/5/2019 and go about their lawful businesses."
He concluded that the Police have arranged special combined security force to be on stand by and a warning that they will not hesitate to "deal decisively with and in accordance with the law any individual or groups under any guise that will disrupt Public Peace in the State."
