Anambra: 14yrs old given out to 65yrs old man in marriage, rescued and back to school.

A 14years old girl, named Ebube, who lives in Nnewi, Anambra state, have been rescued by the "Behind Behind Bars Rights Foundation" and sent back to school.

The Behind Behind Bars Rights Foundation, on Monday, 4th February, embarked on a journey to investigate and rescue 14years old Ebube who was given out in marriage to 65yrs old man in marriage in Nnewi.


Prior to this marriage, Ebube who lost her father years ago, was impregnated by a man. She was later delivered of a baby boy, that condition was what lead to the early marriage with the 65yrs old man who was willing to take her in in accordance to their culture.

Ebube was rescued "Behind Behind Bars Rights Foundation" and handed over to the "Hilary Obi Ibegbulem Foundation" on request.

She is currently living with her son in a well furnished apartment with a Nanny under the payroll and welfare of Mr Hilary Ibegbulem.

She has also been enrolled in School.
