Nigeria: Federal Government declares October 2nd public holiday.
To celebrate her 57th independence anniversary, the Federal Government of Nigeria have declared October 2nd public holiday, on Wednesday, 27th September.
This announcement was made by Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (Rtd), through the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Engr Abubakar Magajion, behalf of the Federal Government.
He congratulates Nigerians and urged them to sustain a collective effort towards maintaining and strengthening the unity of Nigeria.
Dambazau also emphasized Government’s commitment to promoting national unity, economic growth and political development on democratic principles.
He enjoined all Nigerians to remain steadfast in the love and care of the country, noting that strong sense of ownership of one’s country is vital to the sustainable development of nay nation.
He concluded by wishing all Nigerians a Happy 57th Independence Anniversary.
Nigeria gained Independence from colonial masters on October 1, 1960.
