Six Reasons Why You Should Be A Rotaract

Having been in existence since 1968, it has become one of the most popular and influential children, youth and adult club in the world.

The Rotary Club focuses on the development of young adults as leaders in their communities and workplace. It also aims in bringing global peace.

Rotaract stands for Rotary in Action which was coined from the combination of Rotary and Interact (International + Action).

Rotaract meetings basically happened in clubs but these days almost any organised area and their service include Club Service, Community Service, International Service and Professional Development.
Having noted all that, here are six reasons why you should attend rotary meetings -

1. Having loads of fun and laughs: So many social events, you get to see that all Rotarians. Rotaractors no matter their age or background, have a passion for fun, and a fairly unique sense of humour.

2. Meeting new people: Rotaract programs provides the ultimate opportunity to network. Often Rotarians from other regions of the world can become valuable resources for collaboration on new projects. Getting to know new people will spark inspiration and fresh insights.

3. Reconnecting: With the sole advantage of social media, Rotaractors can keep connected to each other both local and international. Attending programs allow you to mix and mingle, form new relationships, and strengthen existing ones. Trying this over coffee, lunch, or even cocktails in the House of Friendship goes a long way.

4. Exchange of Ideas: No matter how experienced you are at club business or service projects, you can always learn something new. We can get stuck in our own limited point of view without exposure to others. At a breakout session, you may even find yourself sitting next to a future president of Rotary International or other blessed set of people, you never can tell the giver of idea might also be the executor that will help bring you to limelight.

5. Migration/Excursions: You may not have sight seeing plans but visiting a new city wont be a terrible idea. And yes! I know you love it already.

6. Getting more involved . When you’re sharing the same space with thousands of Rotaractors, you can’t help but discover new ways to get involved. Sometimes it’s about taking a selfie with someone who’s influenced you, or sharing an idea with someone you admire, or making a connection that leads to a new project or activity.

So that's basically it!

Rotaract/Rotary Club challenge you to grow and allows you to make new friends. Once you go for one, you’ll want to come back for more.

P.S There is quite a lined similarity between Rotary Club, Lions Club and JCI.
