Yabatech Student, Olaleye Damilola comes first in Still Art Competition on Indomie International Youth Day held at Unilag.
Student of Yaba College of Technology, Art Department, Olaleye Damilola, won the Still Art Drawing competition, held on the International Youth Day hosted by Indomie at the Afe Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos, on 15th August, 2016.
The second position went to Victoria Ndubisi of "Ven Vick" also from the Department of Art(Creative Art), Yaba College of Technology.
Their prizes was presented to them by P.R/Manager, De United Foods Industries Limited (Indomie).
The theme of the day was "Skill development and fostering Creativity amongst Nigeria Youth", and was properly hosted by Tomike Alayode of Unilag Fm.
The event featured special talents from art & design, painting, educationists, engineering and more.
The first speaker from JobRed, Tunji Adebayo, talked about how to write a presentable CV and also common mistakes people make.
He said people should avoid writing postal and e-mail address that is not functional, avoid nick names on your CV.
"Do not load your CV with irrelevant information, add things that will give you the job."
Do not use someone's hobbies as yours as you might be asked during oral interview, use yours.
Also, he says, "Your recent qualification must come first or top of your CV." That is tertiary institution before primary school, for instance.
Adebayo also mentioned the importance of reference on C.V and experience.
He said the reference on resumé is very important as it might be a saving grace when employers try reaching you in vein and when asked about years of experience, "never you say I have none".
He concluded saying job seekers must always have vast idea of any company they want to work with or for.
The second speech from Konga representative, Rubby, was about the introduction of "Konga Pay".
With Konga Pay, you can buy airtime, pay for Dstv, shop and so on. While doing this, you will not be charged for transaction instead you will be given five per cent discount.
Ikechukwu Ugo, Specialist, Affiliate Marketing at Konga talked about "The Konga Promoters Programme", Ridwan Lawal, Treasurer, Unilag SUG(suspended), talked about Real Estate Management, while Folake Oduwa from Oriflame talked about Oriflame Beauty Products.
Dr. Ayomide, a medical doctor from Unilag, talked about sex, drug abuse and personal hygiene.
He advise youths to drink with sense, not smoke at all, use maximum protection and endeavour to know their status.
A bit of Cancer, he talked about Self Breast Examination (SBE). By doing this, check for sour, dimpling, colouring, swelling, bulging and anything unusual.
Thomson Amodu, a travel blogger and farmer talked about Career Building,while Sheerif Sani of Sadikay Kitchen, talked about how academic journey influenced him.
Comedian, Bisojoe got the audience really cracked-up while Dextee toped it with fine music.
The final speech came from Dr. Emerie Agunwah founder /CEO Marina Group, who says "The number one thing to do to be successful in life is to be successful".
He goes further to say "If you cannot produce money, you are not valuable".
Indomie was on ground to satisfy audience with indomie #BELLEFULL.
