Alibaba - "No More 'Oshofree", at World Youth Skills Day, Yabatech.
The World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) held at the Main Auditorium, Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), on the 15th of July, 2016, came to an interesting end with Ali Baba advising no more freebies for skills and talents.
Ali Baba, comedian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, gave this advise while handling the main topic.
He says "no more 'osho free" which means freebies in English, to youths with special skills and talents who have been able to establish and expose it one way or the other.
He goes further saying that "make sure anything you do in life, write your name all over it". This is for those who work in companies or with people who do not allow them to express their personal skill or display brand on their handwork.
Ali also advice those who want to do business with people to always send email because it lasts longer and can easily be referred to.
In the same vein, he says "look for people that boast idea, either with money or connection, not those that are ordinary".
He was later presented with an art piece.
The WYSD was hosted by UNEVOC, Yabatech chapter in conjunction with United Nation Organization (UNO) to eradicate poverty and lack of employment amongst the youth.
It also involves competition among students who get to showcase their talents and companies with special offers for students.
The First position for the 2016 WYSDYCT competition for Creativity went to Nasiru Halimat of Art Department - a painting.
Other speakers at the event were Shola Animashun and Folashade Ajayi.
Important guest noted were Engr. Timothy Iwuagu, O. T Raheem, the Dean Students Affairs, Yabatech and Dr. Charles Oni, PR, Yabatech.
The event was well supported by Indomie as they gave out enough cooked Indomie to large number of students.
Special dance was done by Obi Mikel and friends.
